Corrosion Resistance
INCONEL 625 is an austenitic superalloy primarily composed of nickel, designed for high strength and durability in demanding environments. Its remarkable mechanical strength and fatigue resistance (even at high temperatures up to 1093℃), are derived from the solid solution strengthening effects of molybdenum and niobium within a nickel-chromium matrix, making it a key material in aerospace applications.
Though designed for strength in high-temperature environments, its high chromium and molybdenum content endow it with exceptional resistance to corrosion in a multitude of environments, from highly oxidizing to general corrosion conditions to demonstrate outstanding resistance to corrosion damage and stress corrosion cracking. It also exhibits superior corrosion resistance in chloride-contaminated media, making it highly effective in environments such as seawater, geothermal fluids, neutral salts, and brine.
