Corrosion Resistance
INCOLOY 800/800H/800HT share very similar chemical compositions, thus all have excellent resistance to reducing, oxidizing, nitriding media corrosion, and alternating oxidizing-reducing media corrosion. They also exhibit high metallurgical stability during prolonged exposure to high-temperatures.
However, the key difference among the three lies in their (Al + Ti) content, which affects their suitability for difference service conditions:
- INCOLOY 800 exhibits a balanced set of properties across broad temperature ranges, including sub-zero, ambient, and up to 600°C, making it suitable for general high-temperature applications.
- INCOLOY 800H, with an (Al+Ti) content not exceeding 0.7%, has excellent tensile strength above 600°C and still maintains good toughness when working for a long time below 700°C.
-
Application Fields
Muffle furnaces, muffle furnaces, and heat treatment fixtures and baskets, vacuum furnace devices, chloride equipment operating at temperatures up to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit, titanium dioxide plants, heaters, distillation columns, bubble cap towers, and condensers in fatty acid processes, evaporator tubes, tube sheets, and pressure plates in sodium sulfide manufacturing processes, rosin acid treatment equipment in pulp manufacturing, etc.
