  • Corrosion Resistance

    Incoloy 825 alloy is a universal engineering alloy with high resistance to both acid and alkali metal corrosion in oxidizing and reducing environments. Its high nickel content provides effective protection against stress corrosion cracking, making it highly reliable in aggressive chemical conditions. This alloy also exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in various media such as sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, nitric acid, and organic acids, as well as alkali metals such as sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, and hydrochloric acid solutions.

     

    The superior comprehensive performance of alloy 825 is demonstrated in nuclear fuel dissolvers with diverse corrosion media such as sulfuric acid, nitric acid, and sodium hydroxide all handled in a single system. Incoloy 825 alloy is resistant to boiling sulfuric acid concentrations up to 40% and all concentrations of sulfuric acid at temperatures below 80°C and 66°C. Regarding phosphoric acid and others, INCOLOY 825 exhibits excellent corrosion resistance. It also shows good resistance to pitting in solutions containing chlorides, stress corrosion, and intergranular corrosion.
